For me, as a woman, cleanliness in my home is paramount. When a home is not clean enough, expensive furniture, TVs, costly appliances, and kitchen appliances are nothing. The level of cleanliness makes living in the apartment or house pleasant enough and possible for guests to visit at any time. Friends and acquaintances often come for coffee or dinner. But like any working person, I only sometimes have enough time and energy. So learning from the more experienced, I learned some easy and good tricks that help clean the home from unwanted dirt and traces of daily use naturally and fast.

Here I share ways to clean without chemicals because I know that some people suffer from allergies, have small children or, for some other reason, prefer more harmless means.

  1. Make your own detergents
This way, you will save money every month and be sure to use quality and natural products when taking care of your home. To do this, mix four tablespoons of baking soda with about a litre of warm water. Put the liquid in a spray bottle or soak it in a sponge and treat those areas of the kitchen and flat surfaces that need it, such as cabinets, shelves and doors.
  2. Shoes that smell bad
Everyone has one such pair at home, especially if they often visit the gym with them. You can eliminate these unpleasant odours by sprinkling a little soda inside them. Let them stand for a while, then beat them well.
  3. Traces of coloured markers on the walls
Instead of imposing unnecessary and strict rules on your children, forbidding them to draw on the walls, you better learn to erase these traces. That would have a much better effect. Children are children and often do not follow the strict rules of adults.
The best and most effective way to do this is to use toothpaste. It can successfully erase traces of coloured markers on the wall.
  4. The trash can
Even if stored in the kitchen cupboard or on the terrace, it often has an unpleasant odour, especially if you do not dispose of food waste regularly. To deal with this unpleasant odour, rub a little citrus peel on the inside, then wash with cold water.
  5. Pets
Everyone enjoys pets, but they also cause dirt and odours. Above all, you need to maintain excellent hygiene for them. For example, you should clean the cat toilet every morning so that odours do not spread everywhere. If you know where the odour source is, sprinkle with baking soda and clean with a vacuum cleaner after 15-20 minutes. The result will be fast and effective.
  6. Clogged sink channel
Everyone has suffered from a similar problem. Sometimes people do not take the necessary measures, and the problem remains for days. However, there is a better solution. If the water in your sink drains hard slowly, pour half a cup of baking soda and then half a cup of vinegar. Cover the siphon with a damp cloth, wait 5 minutes, and then pour boiling water. You can also try half a litre of Coca-Cola. I’ve tried it, and it worked.
  7. Stains on the cutting board
It is one of the most used appliances in the kitchen, and it often leaves traces of food. How to clean? Cut one lemon in half, then rub the whole surface of the board well with the juicy part. You can sprinkle the board with salt or baking soda for an even better effect.
  8. Vinegar for clean windows
Yes, it is possible. Vinegar has unique superpowers that would help you clean the mirrors in the bathroom and windows. Fill about 2 litres of water with two tablespoons of white vinegar in a spray bottle. Then carefully spray the contaminated parts of the glass. Wipe with a clean microfibre cloth.
  9. For clean kitchen counter tops
Like utensils and cutlery, you should perfectly clean this part of the kitchen so that you do not have problems with germs. For this purpose, you can use a simple dishwashing detergent diluted with warm water. Place the mixture in a spray bottle, then spray the boards to be treated well.
Wipe with a dry cloth at the end.

New tips for a dusty home

Every home suffers from the presence of dust. It’s a constant struggle to maintain a healthy environment. Dust is something completely normal and organic. There are several reasons why more dust forms in some places than others.

As scary as it sounds when we open the window to ventilate, we make it possible for more dust to enter the room.

  1. Always start from the top down
As with anything else on our planet, the laws of gravity apply to dust. Remember to start with objects first – shelves, doors, counter tops, picture frames, etc. Only then can you begin treating the floor with a vacuum cleaner, mop or whatever you have on hand.
  2. The list
Creating a list would make it a lot easier for you. When you’re in a hurry, you need more time to write down what to do. But at some point, the list will significantly speed up cleaning your house. This way you will organise your activities, and not waste time thinking about what you have to do now.
  3. Ask for help
However, the most time-saving way is to ask two more hands to join the fight against dirt and dust. If you have children at home, organising a kind of game is no problem. For example, who will clean their room faster. That will create a child with some activity and valuable habits and save time.
Now you know how to be better prepared to fight against unwanted dust and dirt at home. You can always turn to home cleaning services if you do not have the time or desire.
